This particular geode stands out with its deep purple Amethyst Druzy, enriched by rare calcite inclusions that add remarkable exclusivity and visual appeal. The calcite crystals, ranging from translucent to a soft yellowish tone, are meticulously formed and evenly distributed throughout the geode. Their distinct rhombohedral shapes are clearly visible, providing an elegant and unique aesthetic balance to the piece.

Amethyst is a variety of quartz in violet or purple hues, widely used as an ornament. Its characteristic color is attributed to the presence of bivalent iron (Fe2+), although this coloration can be altered or even removed by heating or exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Recent studies indicate that the color of amethyst results from iron impurities, with a complex interaction between iron and aluminum responsible for its unique hue. When exposed to heat (around 500°C), amethyst typically turns yellow and is sold as "burnt amethyst" or citrine. This color transformation occurs due to oxidation, which converts Fe2+ to Fe3+. Amethyst veins exposed to air can easily lose their color.

The most significant amethyst deposits are located in Brazil, in cities such as Caetité (Bahia), Chopinzinho (Paraná), Montezuma (Minas Gerais), and especially Ametista do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul), where geodes exceeding 2 meters in height are not uncommon. Other notable sources include the Artigas Department in Uruguay and Madagascar.

Please note: this is a natural gemstone and is sold as is. While we strive to capture photos with the utmost accuracy, slight variations from the original item may occur due to monitor color settings.
